Where Protection Meets Precision

Ceramic coating and detailing designed to safeguard your vessel while enhancing its natural brilliance—executed with meticulous attention to detail.

Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coating is one of the most effective ways to protect your boat’s finish over time. Unlike waxes or traditional sealants, ceramic coatings form a durable, bonded layer that enhances gloss while providing superior resistance to UV exposure, heat, harsh detergents, and environmental contaminants.

In many cases, ceramic coatings offer protection that exceeds factory gel coat, creating a long-lasting barrier that helps preserve your vessel’s appearance and value. With experience on hundreds of boats, Bow2Stern brings a meticulous, detail-driven approach to every ceramic coating and detailing project.

Most ceramic coatings provide 1–2 years of protection, making them a smart investment for owners who value performance, longevity, and refined craftsmanship.

The Science of Shine: Optically Perfect Ceramic Coatings

At Bow 2 Stern, we don’t just guess if your yacht is ready for ceramic protection—we mathematically prove it.

Before we apply any Gtechniq Marine Ceramic, we use laser-calibrated GM-6 Gloss Meters (measuring at the universal 60-degree marine standard) to assess the optical clarity of your gelcoat. Why? Because the official Gtechniq factory warranty requires a flawless surface to guarantee its 36-month protection.

If we seal in defects, the warranty fails. Our rigorous, multi-stage micro-leveling process ensures your hull hits absolute peak reflection before the ceramic base coat is ever applied.

The Yacht Industry Gloss Standard (GU - Gloss Units):

Under 60 GU: Dull, oxidized, or failing. (This is the threshold where global coatings officially declare a warranty failure).

70 to 85 GU: Good, acceptable gloss. Typically seen on well-maintained, lightly aged vessels.

90 to 95 GU: Exceptional gloss. The standard for a brand-new factory boat right off the showroom floor.

95 to 105 GU: Flawless, mirror-like optical clarity.

The Bow 2 Stern Standard: We do not stop correcting until your vessel measures in the 95 to 105 GU range. We deliver a finish that often exceeds brand-new factory standards, and then we lock that perfection in with Gtechniq Marine Ceramic Base and Top coats.

When you choose us, you aren't just getting a boat wash. You are getting certified, measured, and warrantied perfection.
